Time at Home

After classes ended, I went home to Saint Paul, Minnesota. It was my brother Liam's high school graduation.

Here's a picture from my time at home-- from left to right, my dad, my mom, my sister Lizzy, my brother Liam and me. It looks like we're having a good time, right?

Another thing I did when I went home is I started getting ready to take classes at the end of June. I'm currently finishing up classes offered by Framingham State University towards a Masters in Education.

Welcome to Ms. Maura's blog!

Welcome to my blog! This semester we are going to be keeping a weekly writing journal about the outside reading in a blog.

What does it mean to keep a weekly writing journal?
  • You can record your thoughts and impressions about the book we're reading
  • It gives you time to reflect on what is happening, and what you predict will happen later in the book
  • You can go back and look at your initial thoughts and see how they've changed by the time you finish the book

Right now you should be reading the summer reading (7th Grade: Journey to the Center of the Earth; 8th Grade: Voyage of the Dawn Treader). When school starts we will start with the first new books:

7th Grade: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe

8th Grade: Animal Farm

Make sure to let me know if you have any questions about the summer reading! Otherwise, have a great summer and watch out for new blog entries.

Bye!
